محمدمهدی دبستانی است و پسری آرام و دوست داشتنی میباشد. پدر و مادرش متارکه کرده اند و سرپرستی محمدمهدی که تک فرزند است به عهده مادر میباشد. مادر از دواج مجدد كرده ، كار ناپدري در معدن است ، آنها در منزل مادربزرگ به همراه دو دایی محمدمهدی و مادربزرگش زندگی سختی را می گذرانند. منزل آنها بسیار قدیمی و مخروبه است که حتا دیوار و درب حیاط ندارد و فاقد سرویس بهداشتی و حمام مناسب است. این خانواده در مضیقه شدید مالی قرار دارند و نیاز مبرم به حمایت مالی دارند.
